FX HIROTA'S BIGFIN SQUID This squid glow lure is inspired by a realistic bigfin reef squid, designed by Hirota. It features the distinctive glow pattern of a bigfin reef squid. The key feature is the all-pearl white base, not a hologram. The glow pattern is applied by spraying a brown gradient from the edges, then manually masking each lure one by one, which is extremely time-consuming. While this is more time-consuming than standard paints, we asked SFC paint master Takezaki to make the effort. The exquisite synergy between the pearl white and special glow lure recreates the fleeing bigfin reef squid in the water. Especially in low light conditions like dawn and dusk, or on cloudy days, the exquisite glow effect created by the reflection of the pearl and glow lure recreates the bigfin reef squid wary of predators, turning on your target's switch. This color is also highly effective for stubborn bluefish such as yellowtail and amberjack, as well as amberjack and large bottom fish.
cranky
This short jig, designed by Sato Tsunehiro, is easy for anyone to use. The Cranky's stepped surface streamlines the flow, allowing anyone to easily turn it sideways, and its horizontal vibration fall allows it to be baited whether it's moving up or down. I remember Sato using it extensively during the testing phase, producing impressive results with cutlassfish and akamutsu. While it's recommended for beginners to slow-pitch jerking, it's also recommended for fishing where you keep the fish at a certain distance by making detailed lures with short pitches, such as a quarter pitch. This is an automatic jig with a super-balanced design from Sato Tsunehiro. If you're not sure which jig to choose, start with the Cranky, you can't go wrong with this jig. It's great for cutlassfish, akamutsu, yellowtail, and amberjack!
