Deep Sea Jigging Rod Dire Wolf Phase 2: A 10-ounce custom bait jigging rod specifically for scallops. Following on from the Dire Wolf 1000, this rod is specifically designed for deep sea scallops. The Dire Wolf Phase 2 is finally here. Tested during the 2020 season to meet expert demand, the rod is ready in time for the 2021 season. Aiming for a rod that's easier to handle than the Dire Wolf 1000, even in rough currents, we commissioned a factory in Nagano to select and assemble the blanks. As a workshop spun off from major rod manufacturer T, each rod is entirely handmade. Each rod is assembled by skilled rod craftsmen, resulting in exceptionally beautiful results. The blanks are made with a 12% glass blend for high elasticity yet exceptional tenacity. And the tip power ensures excellent control of heavyweight jigs weighing over 1kg. I tested it with jigs ranging from 700g to 1500g, and the tip's final stiffness was truly comfortable, eliminating the unsteady feel and noise often associated with heavyweight rods. The core target jig weights ranged from 800g to 1300g. During testing, I caught a blank up to 50kg. The test range was 600m to 800m around Niijima, Izu, and the test jigs I used were mainly Seafloor Control's Spanky and Arc in sizes of 900g, 1100g, and 1300g. This rod is easier to handle in the bad currents off Niijima. While it's specifically designed for black jigging, it's also versatile enough to target Niijima alfonsinos. The Dire Wolf Phase 2 is for deep-sea jigging experts. It's the new standard custom rod for deep-sea fishing.

The rods born under Amberjack's leadership include the Renegade, a collaboration model with Takami Technos, the Dire Wolf 1000, a special order from Maruchu Factory, and now the Dire Wolf Phase 2, commissioned from Koshin in Nagano. This is the third model. All of these are small workshops run by artisans, so mass production is not possible. By utilizing the individuality of each, we are able to achieve things that major manufacturers cannot. From blank selection to guide setting, we consult with experienced advisors, and this original custom rod series was started with the idea that if it doesn't exist, we'll just make it.
