Around March this year, Mr. Uehara, the representative of TAKAMITECHNOS, visited Miyazaki.
It has been approximately 15 years since we began doing business with him. During this time, his "MOZ series", handcrafted one by one at his own factory in Higashi-Osaka, has garnered enthusiastic support from anglers, now reigning as an unwavering icon of solid carbon jigging rods.

Between Representative Uehara, a craftsman to the core, and our shop, Amberjack, the demands from our field-first philosophy were sometimes complex. There were many unreasonable requests that were "easy to convey in words, but difficult to fully translate into a sample." However, he never compromised and willingly accommodated our aspirations. At that time, I carried both the LM (Low Modulus) and HM (High Modulus) models of MOZ to the sea, feeding the data obtained from rigorous testing back into the "RENEGADE" series, successfully completing magnificent rods. Representative Uehara is, as expected, a true rod craftsman. He is a person who can brilliantly give form to the ambiguous words of anglers.

"The current Renegade series is now over 10 years old. How about we make time to go fishing and transition to a new model soon?"
Despite receiving such a welcome offer from him, I was constantly occupied with daily tasks and couldn't easily embark on a new project. However, that collaborative project has finally begun.

The Target: The Cunning One Lurking in Southern Waters

This time, the "MOZ155 LIMITED", created with him, targets that cunning creature lurking in the southern waters.
In recent years, many large amberjacks have been caught in southern fishing grounds. Especially during the spring spawning season, a powerful "one-pitch jerk" approach tends to be more successful than slower fishing methods. The hook setting also involves using only one hook at the front, aggressively jerking the lure in a "jakajaka" style.

For this, we needed a rod with tough specifications that was not a conventional slow-pitch rod, but a "short type" rod that minimizes angler fatigue, while still being able to lightly handle "heavy weight jigs" without losing to deep-sea currents.

The Blanks Evolution: Tune-up Beyond Limits

The "155" this time was produced by Representative Uehara with the "maximum specifications" achievable with current solid carbon technology.

Its distinctive feature is a setting that maintains a slightly slower taper (bend) while possessing overwhelming torque. New carbon fibers were added to the outermost horizontal axis of the blank, applying a tune-up that dramatically enhances fracture strength. Compared to conventional solid carbon, it is significantly more resistant to "twisting," and the rod quickly returns to its correct direction, resulting in a finish that provides a solid feel and weight in hand even when jerking heavy jigs at high pitch.

Furthermore, what is particularly noteworthy is the breadth of Representative Uehara's expertise. Through his collaboration with the ultra-large game rod brand "GOUKI," he has deeply expanded his knowledge of live bait fishing blanks and glass solid blanks, reaching a considerable level of understanding in glass materials. The feedback from these unique models is perfectly reflected in the design of this "155."

The "MOZ155 LIMITED" is a confident creation that we highly recommend to anyone planning to embark on a challenging expedition. Furthermore, taking advantage of its unique tenacity and beautiful bend, it can also be used for a bit of "live bait fishing." It should have better bite than regular high-pitch rods, but please understand that it is primarily a jigging rod.
