Following Direwolf 1000, the "Direwolf Phase II" rod, specifically designed for deep-sea Aburabouzu, is finally here.
After extensive testing during the 2020 season, we have transformed the demanding requirements of experts into reality. It allows for surprisingly nimble jerking, despite its 6-foot length. It also offers a wider range of approaches than shorter rods, as goes without saying!

Production is handled by a domestic rod factory. As it is entirely handmade by skilled craftsmen, it boasts a beauty of finish impossible with mass production and a high level of perfection imbued with soul in each rod. Due to the rising costs of guides and materials, the current price is, we believe, very reasonable.

High elasticity, yet sticky with a quick tip return!

The blank is based on 40-ton and 30-ton carbon, with 12% glass fiber blended in. This achieves amazing "stickiness" despite its high elasticity.

We particularly focused on tip power, resulting in a comfortable operational feel that eliminates any noise or precariousness even when manipulating heavy jigs exceeding 1kg.

Field Testing & Target

Testing was conducted in the 600m to 900m range around Niijima, Izu, using SFC Spanky/Arc jigs weighing 900g to 1300g. It has been proven to have the power to catch 70kg class Aburabouzu.

It is easy to handle even in strong currents, and demonstrates high versatility not only for Aburabouzu but also for Niijima Kinme. It can also be used for amberjack jigging in areas with strong currents such as the Tokara Islands. Please also use it for jigs around 400g-500g for expeditions.
