RENEGADE = To betray. We put this feeling into the name of this rod, which will betray your expectations in a good way and exceed them.
Amberjack tries to use every rod he handles in the field as much as possible, and strives to provide a neutral impression. During this time, he met Takami Technos builder Uehara-san, and after using all the sizes of the MOZ series in Kagoshima, Tanegashima, nearshore waters, and deep waters, he fell in love with solid carbon rods.
For AJ, whose basic fishing method is slow pitch, his reference rod is the Evergreen Poseidon Slow Jerker. The good thing about the Slow Jerker is that it's specialized for jig maneuverability. Its weak point is that it's vulnerable to sudden high loads that occur during jerking or fighting. Also, although I've always used the Slow Jerker as my main rod, I wanted a rod with a slightly slower taper that would allow for more flexible maneuverability with jigs.
One of our concepts is to provide versatility for each rod size. With each passing year, the number of rod sizes increases and becomes more specialized, and it's now common for a single series to require more than eight rods to purchase all of them. It's difficult to clearly explain each of the many sizes, and it's also difficult to get everyone to purchase everything. For the Renegade, we asked Uehara to create a completely new taper based on the MOZ LM (Low Modulus). In comparison with the MOZ, we asked Uehara to create a completely new taper, which has more power in the butt end than the standard LM and incorporates elements of the HM, achieving the best "feel that AJ likes." The appeal of the Renegade is not just that it is a rod that has been specially designed with a completely new taper for the MOZ LM blank, and that has improved operability and will not break even if bent.
To address the weak points of solid rods, we have improved sensitivity by using AGS carbon guides on the two butt guides (the other nine guides are FUJI K Guide SiC).
The grip diameter is wider than the MOZ and is the same size as the Poseidon, featuring a large-diameter cork rubber grip. It's lightweight and less slippery in wet conditions. It's made with full rubber for better usability and more consistent quality and durability than compressed cork.
The blanks are combat gray, the guide threads are black, and the accents are red. Just like the MOZ, each Renegade is carefully assembled and set by the four craftsmen at Takami Technos. Handmade in Osaka, with no compromises.
