Shimada Kobo began when metalworking expert Shimada, based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, personally crafted handle arms for jigging. This design was conceived primarily for targeting large amberjack, allowing for efficient handling of heavyweight jigs in fast-flowing, deep waters. The current design was developed through trial and error, emphasizing torque transmission and strength. Each stainless steel arm is handcrafted in a local workshop, combining beauty and strength. Its greatest selling point is the positive reviews it has received from anglers who have used it. It is compatible with the 17, 19, 20, and 21 Shimano Ocea Jigger series, including the Calcutta and Beastmaster series. The shaft is also a custom-made, reinforced Shimano D-type. Two bearings are included. The compatible handle knob is also Shimano D-type. It can be converted to fit the 19, 20, and 21 Ocea Jigger original handles, such as the Studio Ocean Mark AE100EX and AE85EX. Amberjack's recommended fittings are 105mm or 110mm for the Ocea Jigger 1000 and 1500 series, 115mm for the new Ocea Jigger LD2500 and Ocea Jigger 2000 series, and 120mm and 130mm for the Ocea Jigger 3000 and 4000.
