This assist line supports the area around knots on the main PE line. The core is used to thread the main PE line through the hollow part of the Scrum 16, creating a line system that reinforces areas prone to problems. It prevents air knots and other problems. It also improves threading ease, shortening work time and significantly reducing stress for anglers. The braided core prevents the main line from slipping out when threading (patent pending). Choose the same size as your basic PE line, remove the core, and thread the PE line using a needle or a rod-shaped pass-through. Tie the FG knot with the Scrum in place. After removing the Scrum from the main PE line, secure the end with four half-pitch turns. For a 180kg bluefin tuna, I used a simplified system of 8 FG knots, alternating 10 times with half-pitch knots, 10 knots on the main PE line, and a tube knot on the plug side, but there were no problems with strength. I tightened the FG 8 times as taught by Kinoshita Makoto, and then tightened it again with Vaseline at the end. By reducing the number of braids, the difference in strength is eliminated, and it is further protected by the scrum, so I think it is easy to tie a stable knot.
